2K Recruits Popular Battle Royale Developer to Rescue Struggling Action Game Ambitious Title
The renowned publisher has secured a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to oversee the development team at 31st Union, which is currently crafting the forthcoming third-person action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Leadership Change Follows Mixed Response
Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at 31st Union following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to the game's lackluster early showing last fall.
Recently, 2K president David Ismailer informed team members about this strategic move through an internal memo, which emphasized that early feedback sessions had indicated the requirement for a clearer direction.
The president noted that the developers is now reimagining the project with a refreshed approach, aiming to better meet community desires.
A Pattern of Strategic Acquisitions
This announcement echoes a comparable move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to assist with the beloved franchise development group.
